The following is the full text of California’s real estate licensing law statutes as published in the California Code. For the official version, see the California Legislature.
Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 6742
Any person, firm, or corporation holding a license as real estate broker or real estate salesperson, when making appraisals and valuations of real estate properties, while engaged in the business or acting in the capacity of a real estate broker or a real estate salesperson, within the meaning of the Real Estate Law is exempt from registration under the provisions of this chapter. (Amended by Stats. 2016, Ch. 177, Sec. 1. (AB 685) Effective January 1, 2017.)
Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 7044.1
This chapter does not apply to a real estate licensee acting within the course and scope of his or her license pursuant to the Real Estate Law (Part 1 (commencing with Section 10000) of Division 4). However, nothing in this section shall authorize a real estate licensee or a property manager to act in the capacity of a contractor unless licensed by the board. (Added by Stats. 1994, Ch. 361, Sec. 1. Effective January 1, 1995.)
